 What’s New for the 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

The popular 4Runner SUV continues to be the ride for adventurous explorers as well as families and commuters. It’s big enough to offer an available third row. The cargo hold is enormous, swallowing your adventure gear or family luggage. New colors and new matte gray wheels are ready to dress up the four trim levels. Textured surfaces and technology unite in the welcoming cabin. The generous second row provides plenty of room for your friends or long-legged teens. You can choose fabric, leather or Toyota’s durable, handsome leather-like fabric. 4Runners have some features that are hard to find anywhere else. This includes the available power rear window and available slide-out cargo hold floor. This feature is fun for tailgating, camping, and other activities. Dash tech includes Toyota Entune with smartphone integration apps and features. A touchscreen makes it easy to find the menu item you want. A rearview camera keeps a look out for trouble.

With plenty of performance for your daily commute or off-road jaunt, the 4Runner is fun to drive. The V6 cranks out 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the SR5. Four-wheel drive is standard on TRD models. A two-speed transfer case allows you to claim plenty of torque at low speeds. Crawl Control regulates speed on difficult terrain. With the turn of a dial, you can set a speed and let the 4Runner decide how much push is needed for the ups and downs of trail riding. Another knob lets you choose the traction control needed for a situation. This regulates the locking rear differential. TRD Pro models have Bilstein shocks and thicker skid plates. TRD Off-Road models offer Kinetic Dynamic Suspensions with extra-large sway bars. With the Limited, four-wheel drive is upgraded with a convenient automatic mode. An X-REAS suspension also makes the Limited smoother to drive. This responsive feature absorbs bumps and reduces lean in corners. If you like to bring along big toys, you can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
