What’s New for the 2018 Toyota Avalon?

The Toyota Avalon is the flagship of the Toyota vehicle lineup. It’s a full-sized sedan that has stepped out of the Camry’s shadow in 2018 and managed to make quite the name for itself in a very competitive vehicle category. The Avalon is currently in its last year of the fourth generation. The 2018 Avalon hasn’t undergone many changes for the twilight year, and carries over most of its design elements from the 2017 offering. It still has those full LED headlamps and that bold front grille that is reminiscent of the Toyota Camry. Yet, it’s got excellent fuel economy with a hybrid version of the Avalon raking in a best in class 40 mpg.

The 2018 Toyota Avalon is available in five different model trims. There’s the base model XLE, XLE Plus and XLE Premium. Then, there are the Limited and Touring editions. Although this is the last year of this design model, the interior of the 2018 Toyota Avalon has certainly aged gracefully. It doesn’t look dated and has all the trappings of a European high-end luxury vehicle. The rear bench has a nearly flat seat that gives the 2018 Avalon 39.2 inches of rear leg room. That sits above the Nissan Maxima and puts the 2018 Avalon on par with the Buick Lacrosse. Perhaps the greatest trump card of the Avalon is its standard safety features. Lane Departure Warnings, Pedestrian Detection, and host of other advanced safety features come standard. Yet, the Ford Taurus, Chevy Impala, and Hyundai Azera reserve these next generation features for their pricier luxury trims.
